Lynx

 Lynxnew1  Lynxnew

LYNX 6 yrs old (male) German Shepherd cross, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He can overreact towards some dogs he meets (lunging, barking). NO CATS or LIVESTOCK. He is ok around older children (15+), ok in the car. He is never walked off the lead and requires a bit of training. He has been in the kennels for the past year and tends to get very excited when he sees people or goes for a walk. He can be fearful of people in uniforms, he is best suited as the only dog in the home. Potential adopters must be prepared to meet with LYNX a number of times. He is a lovely, friendly and very people-oriented boy who is just waiting for his special someone.

Leah

Leahnew  Leahnew1

LEAH 6 yrs old (female) German Shepherd cross “Bull” breed (possibly), neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. NO CATS or LIVESTOCK. She has not lived in a home with children, but she is ok around 15+. We don't have any history on the first 2 years of her life. She shows deficiencies in socialisation with people and she is very shy initially. No signs of aggression, LEAH is making great progress in training, she responds well to basic commands but she requires solid recall training. She can get excited and pull on the lead when meeting dogs on walks. She needs a very secure garden as she may escape when unattended. Any person interested in LEAH must be prepared to meet with her a few times, she has so much to offer and she loves to learn.

Stella

Stellanew2  Stellanew

STELLA 1 yr old (female) Rottweiler cross Akita, vaccinated and microchipped, not neutered but BARRK will fund 50 % of this cost. NO CATS or LIVESTOCK. She is great in the car. She is house trained and responds well to basic commands, her recall is not bad but needs improving. She is strong on the lead so further training will be required. She has a very calm and stable temperament and is great with other dogs. She might get excited just wanting to play as she is still very much "the puppy". She has experience around children. Potential adopters must have experience of their large breeds, she is up for adoption through no fault of her own. She loves food and is very keen to learn.

Buddy

BuddyCollie X    BuddyCollie X1

BUDDY 3½ yr Collie cross, he is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, NO CATS or SMALL FURRIES, fine in the car, may chew if left but is happy in his house pen for a couple of hours, reasonable recall if no distractions, can pull on lead if he sees other dogs, BUDDY would benefit from further dog socialisation as he tends to bark and lunge at other dogs when out walking, he has experience around older children 16+, he needs a home with adopters who have the knowledge, time and commitment to further his training.

Indie

Indienew2  Indienew3

INDIE 16 month old (female) German Shepherd cross Alaskan Malamute, she is vaccinated and microchipped, not neutered but BARRK will fund 50% of this cost. She has lived with another dog and has experience around cats, not suitable to be around livestock due to her very high prey drive. She is strong on lead and her recall can be selective if she gets the scent of wildlife, she is pretty good at basic commands.

INDIE shows deficiencies in socialisation with people and dogs. She finds difficulties in overcoming her emotions and responds with fear when she meets new people and excitement when meeting other dogs that can be misinterpreted and taken as aggression. She doesn’t really know much about social interactions but she bonds with people pretty quickly. As she is a mix of working breeds, she has very high physical and mental needs when, if not covered, may develop behavioural problems. INDIE requires an input with a professional (certified) behaviourist to provide some guidance for her future adopters. Potential adopters must be prepared to meet with INDIE a number of times.
