We are happy to accept a minimum donation of £100 to adopt a dog.
Potential adopters can only view a dog once we have spoken with you and carried out a home visit.
LYNX 5 yr (male) German Shepherd cross, he is neutered and microchipped, not vaccinated (but BARRK will fund 100% for the initial full course), he can be selective around some dogs he meets and can also be quite vocal, NO CATS or LIVESTOCK, he is ok around older children (15+), ok in the car, he is never walked off lead as his recall is very poor especially if he gets the scent of something, he can be fearful of people in uniforms, he has had some input with a professional behaviourist, he is best suited as the only dog in the home, he can try to dominate so he needs experienced adopters, potential adopters must be prepared to meet with LYNX a number of times as he has been in kennels for the past 7 months, he is a lovely friendly boy who is just waiting for his special someone.
LEAH 5 yr GSD X (we think) she is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, NO CATS, she has not lived in a home with children, we don't have any history on the first 2 years of her life, she has been in kennels for the past 7 months, she can be very shy initially and when she first came to us she had not had any real socialisation with people or other dogs, some good progress is being made regarding this but further work needs to be done, any person interested in LEAH must be prepared to meet with her a few times, she has so much to offer.
STELLA 9 months Rottweiler x Akita, she is vaccinated & microchipped, not neutered but BARRK will fund 50 % of this cost, NO CATS and NO LIVESTOCK, she can get very excited when she meets other dogs (just wants to play) she is great in the car, STELLA is still very much "the puppy" she is house trained and responds well to basic commands, her recall is not bad but needs improving, she is strong on lead so further training will be required and she will need a home where someone is around for most of the day to advance her skills, she has experience around children, potential adopters must have experience of their large breeds, she is up for adoption through no fault of her own.
COOPER 4 yr Rottweiller microchipped, vaccinated & neutered, lives with two small dogs, NO CATS, has some experience of children, he is good at all the basics and has good recall, he is walked on a harness and is a very heavy boy who weighs around 8 stones. Cooper will need a lot of exercise and should be introduced to a weight reduction programme, he will need adopters with experience of the breed, he is up for adoption through no fault of his own.
BUDDY 3½ yr Collie cross, he is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, NO CATS or SMALL FURRIES, fine in the car, may chew if left but is happy in his house pen for a couple of hours, reasonable recall if no distractions, can pull on lead if he sees other dogs, BUDDY would benefit from further dog socialisation, he has experience around older children 16+, he needs a home with adopters who have the knowledge, time and commitment to further his training.
BUDDY 1 yr Labrador, vaccinated & microchipped, not neutered but BARRK will fund 50% of this cost, ok around older children 16 +, BUDDY has recently been diagnosed as epileptic, he is on long term medication for this which will be funded by BARRK, he is a lively friendly boy who still needs his training to be completed especially lead skills, he will need adopters who are prepared to be able to deal with a dog that is prone to fits although BUDDY has been fit free since his medication was balanced, best suited as the only dog in the home.
ARCHIE 2yr Collie, he is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, has experience around cats, never lived with children, likes the car, good at all the basics with reasonable recall, can pull a little on lead at first, fine around other dogs, he is a lively happy boy who is up for adoption through no fault of his own.
RUBY 5yr Labrador, she is neutered and microchipped but not vaccinated, BARRK will fund 100 % for initial full course, she has experience around cats and is living with another dog, however she is very selective around other dogs she meets when out, so potential adopters will need to work on this, can be prone to car sickness, she can pull a bit on lead, she is fine with children 10+, best suited as the only dog in a rural / semi-rural home.
