We are happy to accept a minimum donation of £100 to adopt a dog.
Potential adopters can only view a dog once we have spoken with you and carried out a home visit.
LYNX 5 yr (male) German Shepherd cross, he is neutered and microchipped, not vaccinated (but BARRK will fund 100% for the initial full course), he can be selective around some dogs he meets and can also be quite vocal, NO CATS or LIVESTOCK, he is ok around older children (15+), ok in the car, he is never walked off lead as his recall is very poor especially if he gets the scent of something, he can be fearful of people in uniforms, he has had some input with a professional behaviourist, he is best suited as the only dog in the home, he can try to dominate so he needs experienced adopters, potential adopters must be prepared to meet with LYNX a number of times as he has been in kennels for the past 7 months, he is a lovely friendly boy who is just waiting for his special someone.
LEAH 5 yr GSD X (we think) she is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, NO CATS, she has not lived in a home with children, we don't have any history on the first 2 years of her life, she has been in kennels for the past 7 months, she can be very shy initially and when she first came to us she had not had any real socialisation with people or other dogs, some good progress is being made regarding this but further work needs to be done, any person interested in LEAH must be prepared to meet with her a few times, she has so much to offer.
STELLA 9 months Rottweiler x Akita, she is vaccinated & microchipped, not neutered but BARRK will fund 50 % of this cost, NO CATS and NO LIVESTOCK, she can get very excited when she meets other dogs (just wants to play) she is great in the car, STELLA is still very much "the puppy" she is house trained and responds well to basic commands, her recall is not bad but needs improving, she is strong on lead so further training will be required and she will need a home where someone is around for most of the day to advance her skills, she has experience around children, potential adopters must have experience of their large breeds, she is up for adoption through no fault of her own.
BUDDY 3½ yr Collie cross, he is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, NO CATS or SMALL FURRIES, fine in the car, may chew if left but is happy in his house pen for a couple of hours, reasonable recall if no distractions, can pull on lead if he sees other dogs, BUDDY would benefit from further dog socialisation, he has experience around older children 16+, he needs a home with adopters who have the knowledge, time and commitment to further his training.
ARCHIE 2yr Collie, he is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, has experience around cats, never lived with children, likes the car, good at all the basics with reasonable recall, can pull a little on lead at first, fine around other dogs, Archie is a very nervous dog around strangers and needs to be in a home where his adopters have the time and commitment to help build his confidence.
LEO 1 yr old Saluki X Lurcher, he is microchipped, vaccinated but not neutered (BARRK will fund 50% of the cost), NO CATS, never lived with children, good at all the basics with reasonable recall, good on the lead, fine around other dogs, best suited to an adult only home, he is a lively happy boy who is up for adoption through no fault of his own.
INDIE 15 months old Malamute X German Shepherd, she is vaccinated & microchipped, not neutered as not had her first season yet, has lived with another dog and has experience around cats, not suitable to be around livestock due to her very high prey drive, she is strong on lead and her recall can be selective if she gets the scent of wildlife, she is pretty good at basic commands.
INDIE is showing very dominant behaviour, she is not suited to a busy family home, she has a very strong character who needs experienced, knowledgeable & confident adopters in a semi-urban home would be preferred.
BAILEY 11½ yr old Lhasa Apso he is microchipped and vaccinated but not neutered (BARRK will fund 50% of this cost), NO CATS, great with children, o.k. in the car, good at all the basics, needs adopters who will be around most of the day, he is up for adoption through no fault of his own.
CHESTER 1 yr old Border Collie, he is microchipped, vaccinated but not neutered (BARRK will fund 50% towards this cost), lives with 2 cats and is currently living with an older dog, he has good recall and responds to all the basics, he is o.k. in the car, has no experience with children. Chester requires more socialisation with people and other dogs and is up for adoption through no fault of his own.
BUSTER 2½ yr Lab/ Spaniel/ Huntaway cross, he is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, living with other dogs, no experience with cats, never lived with children, he is fine in the car, BUSTER responds well to basic commands, he does have a tendency to chase deer, he can pull on lead, he will need experienced & knowledgeable adopters, he is best suited to a rural / semi rural enviroment, he is up for adoption through no fault of his own.
