We are happy to accept a minimum donation of £150 to adopt a dog. This is vital funding to support our kennelling and veterinary costs and to enable us to give out our voucher scheme.
Potential adopters can only view a dog once we have spoken with you and carried out a home visit.
BRUNO 1 yr (M) Shar-Pei X Husky, not neutered (but BARRK will fund 50 % of this cost), not vaccinated or microchipped (but BARRK will fund 100 % for this), NO CATS, whilst some good work has been done with his basic skills more work is still required, he can whine a bit when in the car, he will need a home with a VERY secure garden, he is best suited as the only dog in the home, he is a nice boy...we will only consider potential adopters who have knowledge and experience of their large breeds.
TANJA 7 yr old German Shepherd she is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered, lives with another dog, NO CATS, has experience of children 15+, fine in the car, good on and off lead but her recall can be selective, must be homed in a rural location and is up for adoption through no fault of her own.
ANGUS 3yr Border Collie, not neutered (but BARRK will fund 50 % of this cost), not vaccinated or microchipped (but BARRK will fund 100 % for this), NO CATS, never lived with children, Angus did not have the best start in life before he went to his current owners, he has some trust issues around people and also not very social with other dogs, he is always looking for reassurance, he will require adopters who are extremely knowledgeable, experienced and committed to working with ANGUS and his issues.
Long Term Foster (all veterinary care costs will be met by BARRK)
NIKO 10 yr Alaskan Malamute, he is neutered, vaccinated & microchipped, NO CATS, best suited as the only dog in the home, he can be very vocal in the car, strong on lead and his recall is very selective, he is fine around small female dogs but not good with large male dogs, he is an outdoor / indoor dog, usually kennel and run in the day and house in evening, he is house trained, he is on long term medication for his joints, he is an old boy who needs fosterers with knowledge and experience of the breed, he is your typical Malamute.
BUBBLES 3 yr Mastiff cross, he is neutered and microchipped but not vaccinated, (BARRK will fund 100 % for this cost), living with other dogs, NO CATS, best suited to an adult home, ok in the car, he has no recall and is always walked on harness at all times, his socialisation around other dogs could be improved, he is fine being left for short periods of time, he will need adopters with knowledge and experience of their large breeds, up for adoption through no fault of his own.
